NEW GRANDSON WAS BORN!

I'm back. I needed a lesson from my daughter, Jessica, to learn how to post, but I think I got it now.

Our big news now is that our daughter who lives in Florida, Lindsey and her husband Greg, just had a son. He was named Cole Gregory Goodknight, born on December 28 at 10:04 p.m., 8 lbs. and 2 oz. and 21 inches long. We are so proud of Lindsey and Greg and we're very excited to welcome little Cole into our family. We didn't realize our hard it is to have a grandson so far away. I guess we know now how hard it was for my mother when our children were born. However, I am not afraid of flying like my mother, so I will be down to see them more than twice a year. They will get tired of us and say, "please stay home Mom & Dad - we need a break!" Just kidding, Lindsey and Greg won't say that - at least I hope not! I don't have the link up yet under my blog - another lesson on another day. I will attempt to do a picture here, but if I don't get it, please look up her blog.

Yea I did it! We leave for Florida on 1/07 to 1/18. We can't wait. Have I mentioned lately that I'm a new Grandma. The joy that you feel when you are a grandma is indescribable. Complete joy - that's all I can say.

My first day at blogging!

I'm a little nervous starting this but my kids keep telling me that this is easy. We shall see. I did get it set up so maybe it won't be so bad. Everyone knows that I am technically challenged!

Now, I have to figure out what to say. Why would anyone want to read my blog! But maybe my kids will. Good way to keep in touch. Hopefully, this will be more than a one time deal!

What to write about. Hmm, let see. There is never a dull moment in the Tischendorf household. This has been an exciting year. In February, Amanda announced that she is getting married to Matt Rau, and they were married on August 9. An exciting day. It was great having all the family here. In June, Lindsey and Greg came up for Brian's retirement party and announced that they were having a baby! Our grandson, Caleb, wore a shirt to announce his cousins arrival. Brian retired from working at Quaker Oats/Pepsico for 35 years, wedding in August, October brought a study trip to Italy with our pastor and 12 other people. What an awesome time we had! Will put pictures up later. Just trying to figure out this posting bit right now. We're on our way to CA tomorrow to visit Matt & Amanda for 8 days and to spend Thanksgiving with them. We're very excited. We get back Dec. 2 just in time to start decorating the house.
